Many
couples think of the Justice of the Peace when they think of a small
and simple, affordable ceremony. Actually the state of Michigan did
away with Justices of the Peace several years ago, but many magistrates
still perform civil ceremonies in their courtrooms.
What we know about the local "courthouse weddings" is that Macomb County no longer performs them at all. Oakland County send you to whomever happens to be near where you live. So whether you get someone really good or really bad is just the luck of the draw. And Wayne County now charges what I charge for a private justice of the peace ceremony. So I guess if you want to drive downtown, pay for parking, go through a security checkpoint, and have the same two-minute ceremony that every other couple has had before you...for the same price...well...
We
offer a warmer and more meaningful alternative. We offer a private
ceremony in our beautiful wedding chapel for just you and your
witnesses.
The ceremony itself is richer
than the standard “Do you? I do. You’re married” ceremony you will get
from the courts. You pick the style of your ceremony, your wedding vows, and your
ring vows. We
also offer a silk bridal bouquet and groom's boutonnierefor a special added touch. You also have the option to include your children, include a wedding ritual, or book our photographer to capture your experience.
Just because your justice of the peace style wedding is "private" does not mean it is not special, sacred, and memorable. The smallest, simplest wedding ceremoy and the most lavishwedding ceremony with no expense spared, both serve the same purpose. It is the chance to say to the one you love "I choose to spend the rest of my life with you."
We are also
available for evening and weekend ceremonies, unlike the courts, and we
can often accommodate last minute requests.
