Say "Happy Anniversary" with a Vow Renewal Ceremony

So, you made it!  Maybe this is your first anniversary...  Maybe it is your second, or tenth, or twenty-fifth...

I was reading a story recently.  I can't remember where I read it, so I can not site the source.  But the author was talking about a private language his parents had with one another during the years the children were growing up.  The author said he didn't really understand it until he was, himself, grown and married.

When the author was a child, his mother used to say around the time of her wedding anniversary, "Well, I'm renewing your father's option this year."  And then she would say: "This past year was a pretty good year." or "It can't be any worse than last year."

The father had his own saying.  He would say: "If we can make it til August, we can make it til December."

And so it went through the years.  Every year, they would agree to spend the next year together.  And so may it be with you.  Tom and I have decided to make our own agreement to spend the next year together a "public" agreement.

We have committed that each year, we are going to have a small Vow Renewal Ceremony.  After all, we both had so much fun on our wedding day, we can't wait to say "I Do!" again.

I intvite you to keep your own commitments alive and active by holding your own Vow Renewal Ceremony.  A Joyful Celebration! can officiate a small ceremony in our Wedding Chapel, in your home, in a park, or at another location of your choice.  What better way to "renew your option" than to say before family and friends: "I choose to marry you again and again!"
