"What We Do..."

"What we do for ourselves dies with us.  What we do for others and the world remains and is imortal."

~Albert Pine~

Leadership...

"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more. do more and become more, you are a leader."

~John Quincy Adams~

"You can't lead anyone else further than you have gone yourself."

~Gene Mauch~

"A leader is best when people barely know (she) exists.  When  (her) work is done, (her) aim fulfilled, they will say:  "We did it ourselves."

Reverend Sherry's in a League of Her Own.   posted 11/15/2011

Reverend Sherry was one of the absolute best parts of our wedding. As a testament to her thoughtful, compassionate, humorous and sometimes downright adorably quirky style, both of my parents immediately asked after the ceremony if she had a church or any speaking engagements coming up where they could attend. All of our guests delighted in our ceremony, and in the ability to get a chance speak with and know Reverend Sherry after the ceremony. She completely captured the essence of who my husband and I are as a couple and, importantly, as individuals. For a girl who doesn't like weddings all that much (yep, that's me), I would marry David all over again if Reverend Sherry officiated :) The Mitchells and the Thompsons are all now a part of Reverend Sherry's very well-deserved fan club.

Minister...Celebrant...Officiant... Which?

Minister:  "A person acting as the agent or instrument of another."

Celebrant:  "A participant in any celebration or public rite."

Officiant:  "A person who presides over a religious service or ceremony."

Meet Rev. Sherry Mullins from A Joyful Celebration!

I serve you as a Celebrant and a Minister for all your Sacred Occasions.  My belief is that we are all divinely and very uniquely human.  This guides my individualized and multi-faceted approach to conducting ceremony for you...no matter who you are...what you believe...or how you live your life.

I do not really prefer to call myself a "Wedding Officiant".  Certainly this IS what we do, and it IS likely why you are contacting us. But almost anyone can "show up and officiate".  Almost anyone can "read from a script".  Some people even do this well.

I prefer to be called a "Wedding Celebrant" in terms of what we do for you on wedding day.  As the definition states above, an Officiant "presides over" a "religious service".  What if you don't want a religious service?  What if I don't want to preside OVER anything?  The concept of "participating" along side you, and "celebrating" with you is more aligned with my own values.

And although I do believe that just about anybody can be a Wedding Officiant, I believe it takes a special person and a special skill to a good Wedding Minister.  Ministry encompases all of the support we give you before, during, and after the wedding.  It is what allows you to truly define your vision for the relationship you are unfolding. It is what allows you to be less stressed.  It is what allows you to deepen your relationships with others who are important to you, like your children.  Or even your mother (or future mother-in-law) as she is making you crazy trying to tell you what she thinks your wedding "should be".

So I invite you now to take a leap of faith in me, and in my ministering to you as you contact us using the form to the right.

That's a bit about me.  I look forward to meeting and learning a bit about you too.
